Adopt Henry’s Baby Bat

When Henry Cavill became Durrell’s very first Ambassador in 2014, he joined with like minded individuals who care enough about the world around them to stand up and make a difference, and help some of the most at risk animals on the planet.

You heard it here first, I have officially adopted Ben… the Bat!

The plight of the Livingstone’s fruit bat shows just how important this support really is. It’s sad, but today, these Critically Endangered bats are threatened to the point of possible extinction in the wild. Knowing this, Henry jumped at the chance to help, by adopting and naming our latest, very special, arrival – a baby pup he’s called ‘Ben’.

We’re delighted to announce that from today, you can follow Henry in adopting young Ben. By doing so, you’ll be joining Henry and Durrell in working to secure the survival of his species, by ensuring the future long term viability of the captive population, and in the wild, where we work with local partners and communities to protect their forest habitat.

If you choose to join us and adopt, we would be truly humbled. As a special thank you, we’ve worked with Henry to bring you a very special adoption pack, full of information on your adopted bat, and including an exclusive hand-signed photo of Henry meeting him.

What a fab video – Henry is very sweet with the bats. The staff at Durrell are fantastic – lovely people doing a great job. My husband bought me a #CavillConservation hoodie for my birthday (yesterday) – it is gorgeous! I have had a ton of compliments. Keep up the good work :-) x

Hi Henry how are you? I hope you’re doing well thank you so much for this video about Ben. A couple of weeks ago I traveled to the UK on vacation it was my very first time I have never been to the UK before I had such a wonderful holiday in London and Jersey it’s absolutely gorgeous. You have a beautiful home town/island, by the way Henry I went to Durrell Wildlife when I was in Jersey and I absolutely loved it. I bought the whole #CavillConservation clothing line and I am the first person/fan to adopt Ben the bat it was absolutely wonderful seeing them him and his mother Claudia, as well as the gorilla family. I’m absolutely honored to be able to help these wonderful animals and I want you to know that you will always have my unconditional love and support forever. :) Yours, Rawan Zubaid from Kuwait xxx
